Daniel Noltemeyer is the epitome of the southern gentleman, hailing from Louisville, KY.  Daniel is a strong self-advocate and has been a "voice" in the community promoting public awareness of living and succeeding with Down syndrome. He has been visible on television, radio, newspapers, magazines, and billboards, also serving as a guest lecturer on disabilities at the University of Louisville, School of Medicine. Daniel served on the board of Down Syndrome of Louisville and is an active volunteer in the organization. His outstanding work as an advocate in Kentucky was recognized when he was selected as a finalist for nFocus magazine’s New Faces of Philanthropy in the Fall of 2013. Daniel was named the 2013 Spirit of Courage Award Winner for Best Buddies International during the annual leadership conference for his contributions to Best Buddies. This past December Daniel was presented with the fourth annual Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards at Wynn Las Vegas! He was one of four national finalists for the award and received a $100,000 donation for Best Buddies Kentucky from The NASCAR Foundation, in addition to a 2015 Toyota Camry provided by Toyota, the award's 2014 Official Car Sponsor.

 

Daniel works part-time as a clerk at Kaplan Barron Pediatrics. Daniel's philosophy is: "Believe in yourself. Walk your own path one step at a time with courage, faith, and determination because within you lies all the hopes and dreams of tomorrow." Daniel is proud to be an Ambassador for Best Buddies and to have become a member of the founding Advisory Board for Best Buddies Kentucky.
